EDI to Host US Market Entry Seminar with Stratus Marketing

EDI will host a seminar on July 14th for Israeli companies interested in exploring market entry opportunities in the US.  The event will take place at the Israel-America Chamber of Commerce in Tel Aviv and will feature a presentation by Greg Mower, Managing Partner of Stratus Marketing.  The firm, based in Boise, Idaho, specializes in program development and execution for foreign companies interested in accessing the US market.  EDI has joined with Stratus in a strategic partnership to promote this activity in Israel.

 

New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson Visits in June

As part of a nine country swing through Europe and the Middle East, New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson was in Israel for 36 hours, June 14-15.  During his visit he toured the Weizmann Institute in Rehovot, met for lunch with senior Israeli business leaders (being held in cooperation with the AMCHAM) as well as had a series of private meetings with the Prime Minister and the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Defense as well as Industry, Trade & Labor.  During his visit with the Ministry of Industry, Trade & Labor, New Mexico and Israel signed a Document of Intent to increase trade and R&D cooperation between the two states.  Present during the visit, as well, was Cabinet Secretary for Economic Development Fred Mondragan.  The visit was coordinated by EDI in its role as the regional representative of the New Mexico Economic Development Department.

 

Merage Foundation Founder/President Paul Merage Visits in June

 

Paul Merage, the Founder and President of the Merage Foundation for US-Israel Trade was in Israel at the end of June along with the Foundation’s Executive Director, Marshall Kaplan.  This visit was a follow up to the week long Merage Forums held in June 2007 in Tel Aviv which identified a number of weaknesses in the graduate educational system in Israel.  The Foundation used the visit to explore and develop new initiatives.   To date, the Foundation has hosted 175 Israeli executives for its two-week Executive Leadership Program held three times a year in Irvine, California.  The visit was coordinated by EDI in its role as the local liaison of the Foundation.
