Meeting Scheduled with new US Ambassador to Israel
Representatives of EDI will participate in a meeting of the Board of Directors of the Israel-America Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM) on October 2nd to greet James Cunningham, the new US Ambassador to Israel. In that position he also serves as Honorary Chairperson of the AMCHAM during his term of residence in Israel. The AMCHAM is a member of the US Chamber of Commerce’s international network and EDI President Sherwin Pomerantz is a member of the organization’s Management Committee.
Albuquerque Signs Sister City Agreement with Rehovot
At a ceremony at the Rehovot (Israel) City Hall on September 18th Albuquerque (New Mexico) mayor Martin Chavez and Rehovot Mayor Shuki Forer initialed a sister city agreement between the two municipalities. The event was held in the presence of city officials from both communities, as well as community activists in Albuquerque and representatives of the State of New Mexico. EDI participated in the event in its capacity of regional trade and investment office for the New Mexico Economic Development Department.
Invest in New Mexico Seminar Held in Tel Aviv
Close to 50 Israeli company representatives attended a seminar in Tel Aviv on September 21st at the Carlton Hotel to hear about business opportunities in New Mexico. The seminar was conducted by EDI in its role as local representative of New Mexico’s Economic Development Department. Participating on behalf of the Department were Cabinet Secretary Fred Mondragon, Director of International Activities Mathew Woodlee and the President & CEO of STC.NM Lisa Kuuttilla.
Pennsylvania’s Overseas Reps Meet in the US
EDI was represented during the 15 day annual meeting of Pennsylvania’s overseas representatives which began on September 8th in Pittsburgh and ended on September 23rd in Harrisburg, with the group visiting all of the state’s regional development areas during the intervening days. EDI represents the trade and investment interests of the state throughout the region.
