During the week of April 11th, the American-Israel Chamber of Commerce, Southeast Region (http://www.aiccse.org/) brought a mission of life science, venture capitalists and related individuals to Israel, primarily from Emory University (http://www.emory.edu/). Among the participants were:
· Dr. Raymond Schinazi, Emory Professor of Pediatrics, who has discovered an effective treatment for AIDS
·Dominique Appleby, a career entrepreneur and financier with extensive background in financing companies and projects throughout Western Europe
·Nancy Sousa, Medical Consultant and formerly COO, Mazor Surgical Technologies and President, Given Imaging Inc.
·Terry Walts, President & CEO of Transfusion & Transplantation Technologies LLC (http://www.3tibio.com/)
Some venture capitalists joined the mission as well. Besides touring, the group visited various medical facilities and met with various organizations, companies and individuals in Israel.
