Indiana Economic Development Executives to Visit Israel

In early February, the Executive Vice-President and the Marketing Director of the Indiana Economic Development Corp. will be in Israel to meet with companies and organizations related to Israeli business expansion into the US. EDI represents the investment promotion interests of the state in Israel as a follow up to the visit to Israel in April 2012 of former Governor Mitch Daniels.

Missouri Companies to Visit Israel in February

During the second week of February, two Missouri-based companies in the life sciences field will visit Israel to meet with potential business partners. The Sinclair Research Center of Columbia and Innova Prep of Drexel will have one-on-one appointments set up by EDI in its role of visit coordinator. They will be accompanied by Andrew Smolik, Senior Associate of the Missouri Technology Corporation, the state’s R&D strategic cooperation arm.

EDI Hosts Invest Hong Kong Representative in Israel

At the end of January, Charles Ng, Associate Director General for Invest Hong Kong, was in Israel for a two day visit to kick start EDI’s representation in Israel. One of the main events during his visit was a seminar on doing business with Hong Kong sponsored by the law firm of Meitair Liquornik et al at their offices in Ramat Gan. In addition to the presentation by Mr. Ng, greetings were also given by Sagi Karni, the new Israeli Consul Designate for Hong Kong. Mr. Ng also met individually with representatives of venture capital firms, banks, business accelerators and private companies interested in Hong Kong as a business destination. Invest Hong Kong is the government body responsible for attracting foreign firms to Hong Kong. EDI is now promoting foreign direct investment from Israel to Hong Kong, Indiana and Ireland under related contracts.

Illinois Exhibits at Arab Health Show in Dubai

Illinois had eight companies in the life science field exhibiting at the state’s booth at the Arab Health Conference and Exhibition in Dubai at the end of January. Arab Health is the world’s second largest life science event after Medica in Germany and attracts over 50,000 visitors to the site. EDI, in its role as Middle East Representative of the Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity accompanied the group and arranged for one-on-one appointments for the Illinois companies.

Holland & Knight Visits Israel Again in February

In their fifth visit to the country in the past year, senior partners of Holland & Knight, one of the US’ largest law firms, will be in Israel in early February to meet with tax accountants and lawyers regarding new legislaton recently passed in the US. EDI, as it has done for all of the earlier trips, arranged the meetings for the visit.
